A quick 15-0 run in which we couldn't hit anything and which they were drilling 3 after 3 was the difference in the first half. Down 43-28 at the half.

They are shooting 57% from the floor including 8 of 11 from the arc!

Bose and LLoyd are getting us back into the game early in the 2nd half. Bose with all around play and Lloyd with powerful inside scoring. They get us within 3, before Bose has to sit with 11:30 to go due to fatigue.

With 10:24 to go, Newton ties it at 54.

Back and forth scoring for the next 8 minutes with neither side pulling ahead by much. Newton misses 2 FT's to put us ahead with 3:36 to go.

With 1:12 to go, Bose steals it and throws it ahead to Johnson for a powerful dunk to put us ahead 80-77!

Lloyd was money in the 2nd half including hitting a shot with 16 seconds left to give us another 3 point lead. He then got the rebound when they missed a 3. Then, he drilled both FT's when they intentionally fouled him. After one more set of intentional fouls, we win by a final score of 86-79!

We were led to victory by Lloyd and Bose.

Lloyd was the player of the game. He finished with a career high 30 points. He also had 10 boards, 1 assist, and 1 block. The big guy was 12 of 13 from te field and 6 of 6 from the line. He played 31 minutes.

Bose also had a huge game with 12 points, 6 boards, 6 assists, 2 steals, and a block. He shot 4 of 9, 0 of 3, and 4 of 5. Johnson added 13 on 6 of 6 shooting (4 dunks on fast breaks) and Czepil added 10. Bakari Lewis had 0 points but 5 assists. Newton had 7 points in 14 minutes off the bench.

Edit:

Dec 26, 2009 -

We lose our simmed game to Southern Miss 103-58 which was no surprise. That was the one really good team we kept on our out of conference schedule and they showed us they are good. They advance to 8-1. Bose was our leading scorer with 13 and cemented his place as a full time starter. Lloyd had 10 points and 11 boards.

Our next game will be the start of conference play against UT-Arlington. I'll probably play that Friday night.
