I thought Michael Johns was not good, mainly because he insisted giving Lindsay Buckingham the Eddie Vedder treatment. I'll admit I don't like EV imitations to begin with, but the toneless vibrato really pulled his vocal off key throughout the song.

Agreed on David Cook. I was yelling at the screen when he started to talk to Simon, "No! Don't do it! Shut up!"
Michael Johns was so early I forgot how much I disliked him.
