2040 Rookie Draft

By my count, we are essentially sitting at 9 AP left to use, total. I had planned to use 20 rookie interviews, but now I think I need to skip that and instead fly blind through the draft again, and conserve the AP. I’m looking ahead to a renegotiation with CB Booker, and I don’t see how we would possibly afford it otherwise.

Code:
Pick Pos Name Grd Adj 4TBAJP Dev O/U Scout AP Comments 1.30 DT Emmitt Ashenfelter 5.2 5.6 ++ 30% NA 31/63 0 Just looks the part 2.30 ILB Brad Dotson 5.2 5.0 ! ++ 47% NA 17/27 2 Combine, will get PT 3.30 CB Bryan Monroe 4.9 5.0 + -!-+ 40% NA 22/48 1 Run D, interesting skills 4.30 DE Larry Gaines 4.5 4.9 ++-+- 18% NA 14/49 1 Big bars, decent combines 5.30 DE Chris Fitchie 4.2 4.6 ! --- 43% NA 17/28 1 Affinity and big PR drill 6.30 K Ken Bryant 5.4 3.2 + + 52% NA 38/40 0 Need position, big bars 7.30 C Bernard Catlett 3.9 3.3 ++-+- 12% NA 7/44 1 Affinity run blocker

1 – Select a rookie player with one red combine (LB Dotson)
1 – Select a rookie player not on the top page of overall board (LB Dotson)
1 – Select a rookie player with one red combine (CB Monroe)
1 – Select a rookie player not on the top page of overall board (DE Gaines)
1 – Select a rookie player not on the top page of overall board (DE Fitchie)
1 – Select a rookie player not on the top page of overall board (C Catlett)

I can’t say I’m thrilled here, but I’m hopeful that we’ll get some solid contributors from this lot. I reached a bit at DT to take the need guy, and missed out on a MLB who I **loved** for a move to DE, but he went to – San Francisco, at 1.32. Bastards.
