Sockwell and Malaman going right at each other early. Sockwell first with a simply drop step for a basket. Malaman at the other end, creates contact and draws a foul on Sockwell. Malaman hits both FT's to tie it at 2.

Next possession, Sockwell gets it in the high post, spins away from Malaman and drives to the basket for the dunk.

Sockwell forces a miss by Malaman on a hook shot attempt. Chancler with a 3 at the other end.


16:32: Up 7-4, Sockwell draws his Malaman's 1st foul.

16:06: Malaman gets an offensive board.. Pardon tries to rip it away from him before he can dunk.. it doesn't work and Pardon gets his 2nd foul of the game.

14:04: They have been resting Malaman for the last minute. I decide to give Sockwell a brief rest by going with an experimental lineup: Goodman at PF and Gardner at C. It should match up well with their small lineup on the floor right now.. We are up 10-6 before this move.

They counter on the next ball stoppage by bringing back Malaman. I'll leave the lineup in for a minute..

Gardner misses a perimeter shot over Malaman.. Goodman with an offensive board that he tips in. 12-6.

11:39: Gardner with a quick step and a drive gets a 2nd foul on Malaman. I bring in my 2nd unit players. We are up 14-10.


9:14: Sockwell comes back fully rested to play with our 2nd unit. We are up 18-13.


3:48: We get all of our starters back in. We are up 29-25.

2:54: Sockwell gets his 2nd foul when Sparrow, a SF, drives to the hoop.


Halftime: We are up 34-30.


Sockwell is the player of the half with 13 points, 5 boards, and a block.


17:42: Malaman was dominating the early part of the 2nd half with 2 nice baskets and a block of a Sockwell shot that set up a fast break dunk by his teammate. Pardon beat his man and got a 3rd foul on Malaman, and he made the shot and the FT. That put us up 39-37.

13:50: We are down 47-44. Sockwell is getting a bit tired so I rest him and try Henning at C for more shooting options.

12:01: After Henning gives up 2 offensive boards, I pull him and rest all of my starters. Down 49-44. Hopefully, this can be a good stretch for Goodman and company..

7:59: Goodman with a nice crossover beats his man and drives to the hole where he is fouled by Malaman who just returned a minute earlier. That is Malaman's 4th foul. Bruce has been keeping us in the game the last 5 minutes with a few 3's. We are down 57-54 before a well rested Sockwell is about to return.. Goodman hits both FT's to make it a 1 point ball game.

6:35: They make a 3. Sockwell gets called for a BS offensive basket interference. Sockwell then alters a shot and gets a dunk and the foul at the other end. He makes the FT to make it a 1 point game again.

5:02: Bruce misses a 3 but Sockwell grabs the board and pulls out a tremendous 2 handed dunk. 61-60.

4:40: we get a stop and call timeout to get our starters back in.

4:06: We are in the penalty and Sockwell is drawing fouls and hitting both FT's. 65-60. Malaman comes back into the game.


3:41: Sockwell gets a 5th foul on Bland. 66-62. They go to a 3 guard lineup.

3:18: Malaman with a nice hook shot. 66-64. At the other end, he steals an entry pass that was intended for Sockwell.

2:17: They collapse on Sockwell who throws it out to Chancler on the corner.. he hits the 3. 69-65.

1:48: Singleton fouled their PG who made both FT's. Then, their PG stole a pass and took it all the way for a layup. Tied at 69.

1:29: Sockwell gets it deep in the post.. he hits a turnaround jumper from 4-6 feet out. 71-69.

58 seconds: Pardon had just stolen it, but while being harassed by their SF from behind, he misses the dunk! They come back quickly and get it to Malaman who never ran down the court far.. he dunks it over the smaller Gardner. Tied at 71.

36 seconds left: Pick and Roll with Singleton and Sockwell.. Singleton throws it to a wide open Sockwell 12 feet out.. he shoots.. he is fouled.. and he makes it anyway! He misses the FT, but Pardon gets it and is fouled.

Fortunately, we are in the double bonus as Pardon misses the 1st.. he makes the 2nd to put us up 74-71.

26 seconds: Fellers misses a 3 and Sockwell gets the board. Sockwell makes both FT's.

19 seconds: Fellers hits a 3.

17 seconds left: They foul Singleton... he makes the 1st to make it a 3 point lead.. and he makes the 2nd! 78-74.

6 seconds: They miss the 3 but Malaman with an offensive board and the putback.

4 seconds: They foul Singleton.. he makes the 1st... and the 2nd! 80-76.



We win the game 80-76 as they miss a buzzer 3. We committed 13 team fouls. They committed 22.


Sockwell was the player of the game with 33 points, 13 boards, 1 assist, and 1 block. He shot 12 of 14, 0 of 0, and 9 of 10.

Singleton with 6 points, 3 assists, and 3 turnovers. He shot 1 of 3 and was 4 of 4 from the line.

Chancler had 6 points and a steal. He shot 2 of 8.

Pardon with 7 points, 5 boards, 3 assists, and 3 steals. He shot 2 of 11, 1 of 2, and 2 of 3.

Bruce led the bench with 12 points and 1 assist. He shot 4 of 7, 3 of 5, and 1 of 2.
