San Diego (1-2) at Ohio (0-2)

San Diego is rated similar to providence, 82 OVR (82 off/81 def/83 sht/82 reb). San Diego looks a lot more experienced and a lot more balanced.

Scouting

PG Maceo McCollum – SR – 77 OVR – 89 speed/92 quickness(damn!). 83 defense, 86 ball handling. Awareness is great on both ends (74/76). 80 close/74 med/66 3. 82 off the dribble, 77 in traffic, looks like the type to drive more than shoot the long range shot.

SG Trevor Kent – SR – 74 OVR - 88 speed/82 quickness. 81 defense(good but Cooper is better than that). 83 close/73 med/79 3. 79 off the dribble and in traffic. He's dangerous but I have bigger worries, if cooper can stay tight on him we'll be ok.

SF D'Marr Minnieweather – SO – 70 OVR – 6'6”, 82 sped/70 quickness. 79 defense, above average for a SF. 83 close/69 med/63 3. He doesn't lok like a scorer at all. He really looks like dead weight.

PF JJ Danley – JR – 74 OVR – 6'8”, not much of a rebounder (73 o/79 d) but a strong post prescence (85 o/80 d). 85 close/84 in traffic. Not a shot blocker, and he just has average strength (66).

C Ivan Floyd – SR – 79 OVR – Floyd is only 6'9” which is a relief. This talent with a little more size would be unstoppable. 80 orb/84 drb. 83 post offense/83 post defense. 78 blocked shot rating. Defensive Awareness 81. 90 close/79 in traffic. 87 strength. Its only through 3 games but Floyd is averaging 23 points/game so far.

San Diego has 10 guys rated 68 or above. They have talent and its evenly balanced. Danley and Floyd look like they are extremely strong post players and will be hard to score against. With a senior led team, they have a 56-44 team unity edge.

Cooper with 2 stupid reach in fouls. I'll leave him in and just pull him for the half if he gets his 3rd. We're struggling to just move the ball around against these guys, they're pressing pretty hard on defense.

Backups are in. Damn we're struggling. Kent has 6 points for them so far, House has 6 or 7 for us I think.

Lufkin with a ridiculously lucky 3 as time expires on the shot clock, Mendoza hits an open 3 and gets a layup in transition.. backups looking good today! Timeout San Diego

Starters are back in. We had a 24-16 lead and a chance to go up 10, they've scored 4 straight. Great job by the backups though, especially on defense.

It's Wendell House's world and the rest of us are just living in it. House scores the last 9 points of the half for us. We commit 8 fouls on the half, they 11. We hold them to 1-8 from beyond the arc and 13-31 from the floor, solid defensive half. Floyd has 6 and 2 fouls. Kent, their SG has 6.

House has 17. Murphy 7. Lufkin 6 off the bench, and Mendoza 5. Cooper only has 2 again this half. This time we've got a 15 point lead we need to hang on to.

Bright draws a foul inside but comes out with an injury. Keller comes in for him and we'll wait to see how bad it is.

Backups are in as it looks like we've got this well in hand. We learn that Bright's injury is not serious.

We lead 72-45 and sim to the end with about 9:30 left.

Ohio 88
San Diego 58

Well then!

Murphy: 9 points/5 assists/4 steals
Cooper: 5 points
House: 26 points
Bright: 4 points/4 boards
Watson: 16 points/8 boards

Mendoza: 11 points
Lufkin: 8 points

House had 23 when I took him out at the 13 minute mark. If it'd been a closer game and I'd played it out it was an easy 30+ game without forcing anything at all.
