Dave Galley has announced that the Liverpool squad is close to a clean bill of health. Nikola Saric (hip injury) is our only long-term injury and it will still be a while before we can think about setting a realistic return date for him.

Barcelona today played there 24th game of the season (including preseason games) and have still only lost one game all year. The loss came 30/09 when they lost 0-1 to Inter on the road in the Champions League. Zlatan Ibrahimovic has now scored 23 goals in 17 games this year. The rest of the world must be happy that Sweden only finished 3rd in there qualifying group and will not play in South Africa.


Chivas USA today qualified to the MLS finals with a 1-0 win over Los Angeles.

(Res) Liverpool Reserves 2 - 0 Bolton Reserves
Coach John McMahon was present as Liverpool Reserves emerged victorious against Bolton Wanderers Reserves at The County Ground this evening. McMahon singled out Alex Whittle as the team's top performer. The left winger scored a goal to round off an impressive display.
Liverpool Reserves are currently lying in 5th place in the English Reserves Group 2.

Liverpool boss Thomas Northwood today indicated that he is thinking about launching a bid to sign São Paulo FC's Hernanes. Northwood stated that Hernanes was currently in his thoughts but no decision will be made until he has weighed up all his options first.
Liverpool are rumoured to be interested in the player but it’s unlikely they can raise the money.

It was not the best of days for the young Liverpool players today. In the Euro U21 qualifier it was only Eighteen-year-old young Swedish winger Alexander Kacaniklic who had a good game. Kacaniklic is currently on loan from Liverpool to Rochdale.

The first leg of the playoff stage of the European Wold Cup qualifying stage was played today. Greece won the home game 2-1 over Scotland in a game where Darren Fletcher was shown a red card. Bulgaria is now in a great spot with a 2-1 win on the road against Bosnia & Herz. France and Russia was scoreless in the first game in Paris and finally Portugal and Croatia finished 2-2 in a game where both Hugo Almeida and Eduardo scored 2 goals.


England and Brazil played a friendly I Doha today. After goals by Juan (11th minute) and Wayne Rooney (84th minute) the game finished 1-1. Despite England taking 22 shots Brazil had the best chances to win the game. 3 Liverpool players were involved in the game with Glen Johnsson having the best performance (7.3 rating) with Gerrard and Lucas close behind.


Saudi Arabia today became the latest team to qualify for the world Cup with a 4-2 win over New Zealand.

The final is set in the MLS. With a 1-0 win over D.C United, New England won the Eastern Conference and will now play Chivas USA for the title.
