Blue Square Premier team of the week announced and defender Tonkin was named for the honor.

November 18, 2008

We have a short turn-around between games as we play host to York. York beat us 2-1 earlier this season when we played on their pitch.

G - Potter
DL - Tonkin
DC - Coulson
DC - Bolland
DR - Gleeson
ML - McMahon
MC - Challinor
MC - Bennett
MR - Parkinson
ST - Holroyd
ST - Rendell

Subs: Carden, McAuley, Farrell, Hatswell, Beesley

- Rendell needs one more goal to reach 25 league goals with Cambridge

1st half
- In the 14th minute Gleeson found Holroyd who dribbled for space and fired a shot from the top of the box but it hit a defender on the way and deflected wide to keep the game scoreless
- In added time striker Richard Brodie received a pass deep in the box and fired a shot that Potter made a great save on, as it turns outthe play was whistled offside (which it should have been anyway) and the save did not matter
- We go to the half scoreless

2nd half
- Carden in for an injured McMahon in the 53rd minute, Carden to center midfield, Parkinson to left midfield and Challinor to right midfield
- In the 67th minute York is awarded a free kick about 20 yards out, Richard Brodie missed just wide right to keep it scoreless
- McAuley in for Bennett at center midfield in the 71st minute
- In the 88th minute Carden took a free kick from about 40 yards out and just skimme it off the crossbar
- In the 89th minute Rendell received a pass inside the box and redirected it just wide right
- Failed chances was the theme of today's game as we failed to gain the much needed victory with a 0-0 draw

- York defender Danny Parslow is given man of the match honors
