Sporting Clube de Portugal - SAD vs Liverpool
David Moss believes Sporting CP are likely to field a 4-4-2 formation. The pitch at Estádio José Alvalade Século XXI is long which will favour teams playing a direct style. If defenders push up there will be a lot of space to exploit in behind them for the quicker players to take advantage of. Moss believes that Sporting CP will look to use the aerial power of striker Amr Zaki and we should look to cut off the supply to him.
Injured Players: None
Unavailable Players: Andrej Kramaric, Marek Sapara and Joăo Moutinho

Thomas Northwood was not giving much away as he met journalists ahead of Liverpool's match against Sporting Clube de Portugal - SAD in the European Champions Cup Quarter Final. A journalist from the Liverpool Echo chose the main focus point for the conference, asking, "Do you think your side will find motivation a problem against a weaker Sporting CP team?"
Northwood's response was, "I don't think it'll be a problem."
Northwood also had to answer questions about Alberto Aquilani and his demand of regular first team football.

The first two games in the Champions league quarter finals was played today without a single goal being scored. In the game between the two Italian teams Juventus and Inter the biggest story was that Javier Zanetti was sent of after 56 minutes of play and will not get to start in the return leg. The big surprise of the day was that Man U didn’t manage to take advantage at the home field advantage. Lyon even lost there keeper to injury after just 8 minutes of play but still manage to keep the 0 on the scoresheet.
