2005 Season, Week 12
Baltimore (3-7) at Detroit (5-5)
* Lions are favored by 5.

The Ravens offense is led by RB Jamal Lewis (162/590/1) and WR Anquan Boldin (30/418/2). Chris Redman is their starting quarterback, he has been battling injuries all year but is finally back to full strength. Their offense is tied for 30th in scoring at 12.9 ppg. Their defense isn't much better, they are not ranked in the top 15 in any category. However they still have ample talent with S Ed Reed, LB Ray Lewis, and LB Adalius Thomas.

1st Quarter

We start the game with a nice drive that ends with a 29-yard field goal by Hanson. The field goal was set up by a 21-yard pass from Manning to McCareins. That is all the action for the first quarter, their offense is looking pretty bad.

Lions 3, Ravens 0

2nd Quarter

Early in quarter Dre' Bly intercepts Redman and we have the ball at their 35. We can't add to our lead the, they block the 34-yard field goal attempt. Our defense is dominating their offense, as long as we don't turn it over we should be ok. Right on cue, Manning hits McCareins for a 19-yard gain but he fumbles and Ed Reed recovers at our 27. Three plays later Lewis runs it in from 14 yards out. That seemed to wake up our offense, Manning and company execute an almost flawless drive that ends with a 4-yard touchdown pass from Manning to McCareins with 1:59 left in the half. The Ravens are able to add a 52-yard field goal by Aaron Elling as the half ends.

Lions 10, Ravens 10

3rd Quarter

Chris Redman turns into Peyton Manning to begin the second half, he goes 7 for 8 leading them down the field for a touchdown on a 14-yard pass to Boldin. Later in the quarter Reuben Droughns fumbles and Marlon McCree recovers at their 16! Two plays later (after a penalty) Manning hits McCareins for a 26-yard touchdown! Just before the quarter ends Manning fumbles and they recover at our 19.

Lions 17, Ravens 17

4th Quarter

Kevin Williams comes up with a big sack forcing them to settle for a 41-yard field goal by Elling. On their next drive we aren't able to get them off the field before they settle for a 26-yard field goal by Elling to take a 23-17 lead with 2:30 to play. Manning is sacked on first down and we are not able to make up the loss and turn it over on downs. They are able to run out the clock ending our winning streak.

Ravens 23, Lions 17

Really a brutal loss, that we had no business winning anyway. We fumbled the ball 5 times, luckily we only lost 2. Our ball security is a joke, we have 19 fumbles on the season. Manning wasn't bad but his fumble hurt us, he went 22 of 36 for 217 yards with 2 touchdowns. Our running game was shutdown again, we had 45 yards on 21 carries. McCareins continues to half an All-Pro caliber season, he had 8 receptions for 96 yards and 2 touchdowns. He is second in receiving touchdowns (9) and third in receiving yards (1004).

We are going to have to sit G Cameron Spikes down for a little while, he is suffering from a sprained knee.
