Froese beat out Sheehan in the spring, and will open the season as the starting QB. He has great tools, but if he falters, Sheehan will get one more chance to prove he's not a bust.
Monroe is poised for a fine season, and Lesch can come off the bench and pound the rock. O'Neill is a terrific lead blocker.
Flynn's development has been stalled by injuries in each of the last two years. Conners filled in admirably as a true frosh in '09. Looman is a deep threat, while Houston provides a huge target on shorter routes. Dunlap is a capable backup.
Three players with NFL potential--Blackburn, Piper, and Kinney--return to our O-line. Hudson also has outstanding upside. Calixto, who has shifted from guard, will begin the season at right tackle. We need to reinforce this area during our recruiting season.
Ashworth is a very reliable placekicker.
