The Chicago Redbirds have the misfortune of finishing with the 2nd best record in the Federal League, but miss the playoffs. I felt bad, but the schedule is unbalanced, so you play your division more than the rest of the league. Thus, you're really only competing against the teams in your division for a playoff berth, not as much the other teams in other divisions. So it's fair, even though it sort of sucks.
