Yeah, those 2005 Seahawks were a joke. Only won 11 in a row and 13 of their final 15 with their only 2 losses in that span being the regular season finale when they rested their starters and the Super Bowl itself which had just a bit of controversy. To discount their chances because of the historical nature of the team isn't being very fair to the nature of this contest.

And to be clear, I'm not trying to take anything away from the Niners, they were certainly a great team. But even some of the best defenses in the history of the NFL would have had a lot of trouble stopping the run the way Seattle's offensive line (and Alexander) played that year. To say they were a joke is discounting them way too severely.
