Baseball made changes that start next year to make the WS end earlier. The season will now start on the last Wednesday or Thursday in March, and end the same way (instead of the usual Sunday start/end), to move everything up 5 or so days. They are trying it out now so they get some idea of what they like/don't like going into the next bargaining session.
