It might be helpful to know how the conferences are setup currently, so you have a sense of how things look.
A few decades ago, I got the idea to merge some of the conferences from the present-day setup to create a few superconferences.
Some of those still exist, some don't. But the names you'll recognize have a few more members. Let's take a look at the top conferences and their memberships. The following are all 5-star prestige conferences:
