Looking around the league after camps, that monster LB that I was so interested in - Derrick Lewis - was a bust. Not a bust like most - he'll still be a solid player - but I think the LB we did get in Hansen was the best pickup in the draft.

I do make one pickup after camps, picking up DE Justin Prior to help out our yound, hurting DE corps. He's solid all around.

This team is going to be tricky to hold together next season - Conquergood is up for free agency. I'd like to wrap him up now, but he's looking for a $5M raise, and I just don't see where to get that money from.

RESULTS
We finish the preseason 2-2 and looking pretty solid overall. WR Jason Tucker is hurt as is #3 Tackle Brad Bopp. And of course, DE Kyle Hancock will likely miss the whole season.

JAX at CLEVELAND
Scottie got his first playing time as our regular starter and was solid: 22-30-1, 2 TDs, 318 yards. Conquergood got 107 yards the hard way, running the ball 28 times. We win 27-16.

GREEN BAY (0-1) at JAX (1-0)
This is the first time I've noticed that Jim got rid of the lines on the games. We line up opposite the Packers, led by the venerable Gus Frerotte. There's no nice way to put this - we humuliate them. Conquergood runs for 160 yards and 2 TDs. Uffins throws for 368 yards and 4 TDs, with no picks. Rookie WR Malano caught seven of those for 149 yards. Conquergood had another 4 receptions for 48 yards and two more TDs. Prior comes up with 1/5 sacks. They play our scrubs tough, but this one was over at half time: 52-24.

JAX (2-0) at CINCINATTI (1-1)
Well, Scottie was not on top of his game today, throwing three picks and only completing 16/31. One of the interceptions was returned for a TD. His average completion was for about 15 yards though. Conquergood was a workhorse again - 24 carries, 100 yards, 2 TDs. In the end, it was a defense led by LB Johnson's 10 tackles that won this game for us, 28-21.

JAX (3-0) at TENNESSEE (2-1)
A big road game against on of our primary division challengers. Mare kicks four field goals to offset an Uffins interception returned for a TD. When you look at this box score, there is no way we should have been in this game. They held us to 1.2 yards per rush. They won the turnover battle. We didn't get a sack. But we got great returns, great punts, and converted enough 3rd downs to keep us in it, and the Titan's 8 penalties were their undoing: 28-21, Jags.

At 4-0, we are far and away the highest scoring team in the league with 140 points. Pitt is next with 128, nobody else over 100.
