Gotham City Police continue to have no leads in the brutal killing of the mob leader known only as Gambol. "We are continuing to work the case," reports GCPD Commissioner Jack Grogan. "We see a lot of mob killings in the city, but this murder was much more savage, not professional at all. There is a possibility is is connected to the murder of Detective Ramirez two weeks ago, which makes it both more mystifying and very high priority. We are working with the assumption that we may have a serial murderer on our hands, and you can be sure that Homicide and Major Crimes are both working around the clock on the case."

Fast on the heels of this latest murderer, new unsubstantiated sightings of the Batman. Not seen in Gotham in over three months, reports of the caped vigilante have surfaced over the last week. No comment from the police on the matter, nor have any reports been confirmed. The so-called "Bat Signal" created by the late Lieutenant James Gordon has remained on every night, as a Gotham besieged by criminals calls out for help. Perhaps the Batman has come to answer that call?
