It is a time of great upheaval in college football. Years of conference realignment have fundamentally altered the landscape of the FBS. Now, in the wake of the Jerry Sandusky scandal, Big Ten commissioner Jim Delany has ousted Penn State and at last claimed his precious, Notre Dame, with a sweetheart deal.

In the South, the first Super Conference is born when the SEC snags Florida State, Georgia Tech, and Clemson from the ACC, along with Louisville from the Big East. In turn, the ACC raids the Big East, grabbing Rutgers, West Virginia, and USF.

The Big East, desperate for its very survival, reluctantly gives the NCAA-sanctioned Penn State a landing spot over the fierce objections of Pitt. With few viable options available, the Big East also extends invitations to lowly Buffalo from the MAC, and to two regional FCS teams, the University of Massachusetts, and the University of Rochester.
