Another common flaw to these tests is finding the balance between what politicians say and what politicians do. It's not up there in influencing results with, say, the selection of questions but it's often a factor.

For example (just an easy one), my result plots roughly the same as Romney's ... the titular architect of Romneycare. He can say whatever he likes, but that's such an enormous gap in positions that it highlights how inaccurate comparing plot points can be. (If we reversed the roles, he could say the same about our enormous difference on abortion)
