Godfather... He was awake, but doesn't look good. He mistook me for my uncle. It's weird... his eyes aren't moving symmetrically. While he's talking his eyes go all googly-eyes. It was kinda funny that when we were about to leave he got all excited and decided to tell us the story about when he came home from WWII "You'll love this!" It kinda petered out & was just the story how he took the train home after betting his mom he'd be home for Christmas, then how he got there New Year's Eve & stayed up late before falling asleep. Kinda left you waiting for the punchline that never came.
He hadn't even heard that Michigan won. He looked for the game on the TV in the hospital, but the Big Ten network kept it from the commoners like us.
