With the Criterion Collection free over the long weekend on Hulu, I had a very productive movie-watching weekend, especially relative to my level of movie-watching. (Note that I haven't posted in this thread before.) So, a quick rundown of the movies with a rating and a one-phrase synopsis:

And God Created Woman (1956) - 6/10 - Brigitte Bardot is a sexpot
The Night Porter (1974) - 6/10 - The rekindling of a unique relationship in post-WWII Vienna
L'Avventura (1961) - 7/10 - Beatiful, slow Italian film with a checkered love story
Seven Samurai (1954) - 10/10 - A masterpiece, combining excellent history, humor, struggle, and portrayal of warfare
Eraserhead (1977) - 5/10 - a stark, but shallow horror flick that was David Lynch's first film
Modern Times (1936) - 8/10 - a great entree to Chaplin's physical comedy, with bonus commentary on industrialism

(I consider myself fairly tough on movies -- I would regret watching something below a 5, and I would only recommend movies that I rate 7/8 or higher.)
