I think that's probably it for the most part. Expectations. Is it probably an equal of Django or Argo as far as the technical aspects, probably not. I went into Django and Argo expecting to be impressed, and with a general idea of the movies due to Tarrantino and Affleck. I honestly had no idea what I was about to watch with SLP. I just watched it because it was nominated. I was really surprised. My favorite and "best" movie of 2012 aren't really the same thing, I guess.
