Stake Land - 7/10

This is available on Netflix instant. It's a low-budget post-apocalyptic film. It's set in the U.S. after a plague of vampires has pretty much wiped everything out. There is no explanation for how the vampires came around, but the world is pretty much fallen apart by the time the movie starts. The vampires in the film are animalistic. They don't really think, but are just after blood. Other than that, the "regular" vampire rules are in play, sun light kills them, stake through the heart kills them, but also burning them and/or chopping their heads off.

It's a good post apocalyptic film. Very bleak and depressing. It's a bit of a road trip movie too, with a vamprie hunter simply known as "Mister" and a teenage kid he saves heading north to "New Eden." It's about their treck north and what the world's become.

I enjoyed it, even if it falters a bit at the end.
