Noblesville deserved the honor, batting .351 with 4 home runs and 12 RBI. Is the month of June a harbinger of things to come or just a fluke? We'll find out someday, but for now, we'll just let
Ortíz enjoy the limelight.

The Republic League Rookie of the Month Award for June goes to
José Ramírez, the right fielder for
Ann Arbor. He took the league by storm, hitting .244 and looks like he might just be a legitimate contender for the Benny Myers Rookie of the Year Award.
Ramírez tagged 20 hits in 82 at-bats, including 4 home runs, produced 17 RBIs and scored 10 times.
Hitting .242 to date, Ramírez has 8 home runs and 32 RBIs. He has played in 59 games.
