It's possible, but he (Matt Langel, formerly at Colgate) has had them going in the right direction the last two seasons. This is his 7th year at Michigan. He got the job after taking Colgate to the Round of 32 in 2013, and here are his records at Michigan:

2014 - 19-13 (10-8), Loss in NCAA Round 1
2015 - 18-12 (8-8), Loss in NCAA Round 1
2016 - 15-15 (7-9), No postseason
2017 - 13-17 (5-11), No postseason
2018 - 21-14 (7-9), Loss in NIT Round 3
2019 - 25-8 (12-4), Loss in NCAA Round of 32

He's only 45, so certainly not going to retire any time soon. The Board of Trustees is currently satisfied with his performance, but the current goal is to compete for the conference championship, so I guess we'll see how patient the AD is if this season continues to go off the rails.

If it did open up, I would think I would be in a good position to get it. Being an alum, having good success at a high prestige school in a tough conference. The issue could be that Michigan is currently a 77 prestige, while Notre Dame is 92, so I don't know if that will hurt my chances.
