I need to let this one digest for a while. Like, this was a thorough demolition of the opposition. I'm sure part of it was just the fact that my rotation is so deep, but also, I got specific role players for different jobs. Players like Ceteno can score inside at will, Chamberlin is deadly and when you've a 2nd team that can come in and hang with first teamers, that's going to be tough to beat.
Again, I think I've probably just exposed some flaws in the way the game processes all of what's happening. Still, I can't deny that this whole dynasty has gotten me into this game and engrossed enough to where I WANT to play women's basketball.
So that has to be some kind of accomplishment, right?
Kayleen Wallace was Finals MVP. No shock there though, she was averaging 27.2 PPG, 10th among playoff teams and 3rd most of anyone who played in at least 6 playoff games.
So going to go savor this one a bit, before getting down to business and figuring out what's next. I know I have some foreign leagues coming on line next year, that should diversify the player pool a bit as time goes on.
I think my next project might be to sim ahead a bit to the D1 players that start entering the league in 1980, then maybe find some player(s) whose careers we can follow. I'd love to either see a star player hang on as a veteran overseas or to have a scrappy player that will star overseas before getting a chance to play here in the States.
We'll see what I can come up with. Naturally if you have ideas, fling them at me. This is surely the only resident women's basketball dynasty you'll be seeing in these parts.
Simply no words for this though. In the first year of long playoffs, going through and wrecking like this is awesome.
Revisiting this, I don't know what happened to Dickleman, I'm guess she must've been hurt or something. Because she played in Game 1, barely played in Game 2 and not at all in Game 3. Their entire offense goes through her, so that must've been one of the problems, but I need to revisit the file when I go home to see what was wrong with her in that series. Not that it seems like it'd have mattered.
