For me, if I know that I've got a longer walk back home (>1 mile, usually) then I'll track it separately.

Or if it is something like a tempo/interval run, I'll include warm-up/cool-down.

But if it is just a couple tenths of a kilometer, I don't separate it ... will include if I'm not worried about time, will exclude if I am targeting some kind of a performance time.
