Under the Documents filepath for the game, is there something amiss with the defaultleague folder? (It'd be on the same level as the leaguedata folder that your saves are tucked into.)
^ - going from memory, could be wrong on several names/locations. But my hunch is that there is an issue with the default environment that the game draws from to create new games.
