When I start to think I'm figuring some of this out, wham! Something like this happens. At home, against a club that is both not as talented and not as match-fit, we get sent off without much to say about it.
We scored first, but Wick Academy equalized fairly quickly and took the lead early in the second half. Then, another goal put us two down at the 79' mark.
I subbed in Sean Dickson (a striker) for center back Willie Campbell, who was struggling big time, in an effort to spark the attack, and it seemed to work for a few minutes. Murray put Nelson through to bring us back within one score. However, Chisholm got hurt and had to leave the match, Dickson nearly cracked the crossbar with a drive, and Wick Academy took advantage of our manpower shortage and scored again.
Nelson (8.8) and Murray (8.5) were very good; Campbell (5.9) and Francis (6.2) were not.
We're in eighth place now, one of a cluster of four teams who have earned 10 points from 7 matches so far this season.
