Chicago White Sox- 5, Chicago Cubs- 4 (10 innings) -- Brian Anderson hit a solo HR in the top of the 10th to give the Sox the win in this crosstown battle, the first of 2.
Toronto- 8, Seattle- 7 -- A 7 run fourth inning for the Blue Jays saw them bat around, and the big blow came on a grand slam from Matt Stairs. Seattle got to within 8-7 with 4 runs in the eighth, but B.J. Ryan closed the door for the Blue Jays in the ninth.
Detroit- 11, Oakland- 1 -- This game was highlighted by 3 run homers by Miguel Cabrera and Dusty Ryan for the Tigers. Detroit started Armando Galarraga went 8 1/3 innings before giving up the only Oakland run of the game, a solo homer by Jack Cust. 2 injuries in this one, both for the Tigers. Ramon Santiago will miss just 1 game, while Carlos Guillen is DTD.
