State Meet Update

So the order of events for the State Meet has been released:

Friday

200 IM
50 Free
200 Back
100 Fly
50 Breast
1000 Free


Saturday

200 Medley Relay
200 Free
100 Back
200 Breast
50 Fly
200 Free Relay
400 IM
400 Medley Relay


Sunday

400 Free Relay
100 IM
100 Free
200 Fly
100 Breast
50 Back
500 Free

All events except 500 Free, 1000 Free, 400 IM, 200 Breast/Fly/Back will be conducted as prelim/finals, requiring kids that qualify to swim in the morning prelims and again in the evening in finals. (the events listed in the exceptions will have the 20 fastest kids in those events, regardless of age, swim in the evening finals).

I’m noting this because it could play a part in what the coach decides to do with the twins and their events. He is already going to have some tough decisions determining what they should swim. For instance, Bear’s Friday schedule, doing a quick look it appears Bear would be seeded no worse than 8 in the 200 IM, 7 in the 200 Back, 8 in the 100 Fly and 2 in the 1000 Free, but he can only swim 3 events.

*Note: At least one of my kids has a qualification time in all events italicized above
