So the injection this year of multiple major talents (CB Kareem Jackson, SLB Justin Houston) and a draftee with some zest (DE Cesar Velazquez) has given us one great player at each level of the defense. Now add in newer stuff like better players here and there (FS Tavon Wilson over FS Demps last year) the potential future of DT Grossman, and more, and we have a much better defense. Meanwhile, we have developed offensive players like Bortles, Lee, Murray, Satre, and more. The only position with any green is at Center on offense. I hope that our offense clicks, and our defense keeps us in games.
Before preseason, post-camp, I cut Chris Clemons. He’s no longer the leader on this team for the defensive front after we signed Ninkovich and he’s not a mentor to Des. So we save some money and cut him.
