Indiana's ISTEP is facing a similar overhaul. We just got informed that the test for March will be just under 11 hours. This is just phase one of the test. In the past, BOTH phases took a total of about 6-7 hours. The first phase calls for 3 hours of practice testing (cue Iverson's practice speech here).
Now the state is backpedaling due to the public outcry. The governor and superintendent of schools, who have been embroiled in a bitter power struggle since the superintendent was elected, are pointing fingers.
The entire process is going to be a disaster.
