There have been a lot of very interesting things as I'm running this mini-dynasty. UCLA went 2+ seasons without a loss, an undefeated UNC team losing in the first round to 16-seed East Carolina, a 15-seed Louisville team making their fourth-straight final four...

...but what interests me most, is lightning striking twice.

1956 NCAA Championship: North Carolina 78, UTEP 77 four seconds left, the Tar Heels having taken the first lead since early in the game. UTEP has to go the length of the floor. They inbound deep to Hector Daley, who tipped it to point guard Columbus Zepada. He takes the three, as the buzzer hits. It will always be debated as to whether he got it off in time, but it fell, and it counted.

1964 Final Four: North Carolina 58, UTEP 56. Eight seconds left. Miners inbound to Joshua Bly, who brings the ball up the right side of the floor. He gets by two screens, puts up a shot on the right wing...

...nothing but net.

UTEP 59, UNC 58.

The Heels have to hate seeing UTEP anywhere in their bracket.
