The Story so Far

The Team

2014 (9-7 [L - Wildcard]) - This was a suprisingly good first season. We finished 9-7 behind a 1500 yard rushing season from Bishop Sankey. Jake Locker kept things serviceable throughout the year, but in the end it was a Wild Card division loss to Denver that ended our season.

2015 (12-4 [W - Divisional Round, L - Conference Final]) - A better WR core, with Justin Hunter stepping up and joined by Michal Crabtree in free agency, produced 800 yard season for both. The defense played a big part too. Jason McCourty grabbed 8 INT's to give himself a place on the 2nd All-Team roster. The season ended in the conference finals where we were dominted by Cincy.

2016 (4-12 [N/A]) - Boy what a drop off. From Conference Finals to 4-12. Jake Locker held out, meanwhile an undrafted free agent named Irv Anderson came in. He really impressed us. Jake was traded, and Irv Anderson was our new QB. Not a terrible rookie year for him. 3245 yards, 17 TD's and 14 INT's...promising. The issue was defense. Big drop in pass rush, big drop in pass defence. Ken Whisenhunt was done in Tennessee.

2017 (9-7 [L - Wildcard] - We bounced back quickly under new coach Billy Davis. A very polarising figure in Tennessee which we'll get too later. Big step forward for Irv Anderson. 3800 yards, 25 TD's, 15 INT's. Despite declines in their ability's, Crabtree and Hunter both produced around 1000 yards each. Bishop Sankey also proved a good end zone threat as the RB caught 7 TD's to add to his 5 rushing. The pass rush bounced back as Jurrell Casey 11.5 sacks, 35 hurrys and 35 QB'Kd. Our 2nd round draft pick, safety Scottie Hickman started on a road to very good career. We finished 9-7, however lost once again to the Bronco's in the wildcard.

2018 (8-8 [N/A]) - We finished 8-8 which I find quite suprising. We probably deserved to finish a lot worse. Bishop Sankey dropped below 1000 yards rushing for the first time. Our top tackler was Hickman with just 73 tackles and having missed 2 games through injury. Poor show. We traded up to take CB Ricky Gibson at 3rd overall. It cost alot, but we were desperate for pass defense with McCourty getting on in age. Gibson missed half the season through injury and had us worried. His training camp rating of 37/90 looked so promising. Even when it dropped to 41/85 after pre-season we were delighted. But it only helps if he's on the field. The one positive was Jurrel Casey getting All NFL 1st team at DE.

2019 (10-6 [L - Wildcard]) - Irv Anderson continues to put in solid season with little help at WR. 3600 yards, 21 TD's, 14 INT's. 85.6 QB Rating would be his best with the Titans and earned him a $100 million contract (we're leading up to the first big mistake). Sankey's decline had begun and 2016 3rd round pick Dakota Shepard looked ready having patiently waited. Sankey was traded. Shepard put up 1200 yards and 8 TD's in his first season as starter. Avery Williamson put up 106 tackles on defence, while more of the same with Jurrel Casey. Ricky Gibson stayed healthy the whole season, and stepped up big with 10 INT's and an 86.9% PD%. He was rewarded with all-league 1st team CB in just his 2nd year. But it was another year ending in a loss in the wildcard. This time to the Jets.

And this was as good as it would be for quite a few years...

2020-2028 summary to come a bit later.
