Week 6 - We host the 5-0 Colts. An ugly game follows. We win 16-14. Gaston is MVP with 16 for 76, and then 4 for 44 yards. Willingham had a rushing score on the day with 13 for 68 and caught 5 for 32 in the air. Man, these RBs are a strong tandem. Hoffman was kept to 27 of 39 for 249 and 0:0. Pick by a newly healed Bernardini. 1.5 sacks by Burton. 5 KRB by Leggin.

SS Whalen is back from injury.

Week 7 – We head to Tennessee. Our foes are an anemic 1-4. We are favored by 8. We win 27-20. Sorry spread! Gaston is Game MVP with 16 for 98 and a score. Hoffman has a lowly 18 of 35 for 207 and 1:2. TD toss to Wild. No picks. RB Willingham falls on a fumble and returns it for a score in the 4th quarter. Sacks by Burton and DE Arnie Mettert, 5 KRB by Blades ad 3 by Satre.

No major injuries, although C Jason Nichols is probable for a few weeks. The Colt lost to the Chiefs and we move in front of the division at 5-1.

Week 8 – Now we head to the Chiefs. We win 27-11. Hoffman, MVP, 28 of 39 for 399 and 2:2, Wild was 8 of 135 and 2 scores and Poffenroth 8 for 128. RB Gaston had a rushing score. Pick by CB Ian Heath. Sacks by backup S Albert Corbett and DE Burton. 4 KRB by Starks and 3 by Satre.

Week 9 – We edge Denver 27-20. Hoffman, MVP, with 24 of 34 and 233 and 2:0 ratio. Poffenroth had 10 for 86 and a score and Wild 5 for 97 and the other. Gaston rushed for 23 and 123 yards plus a rush TD. Two picks by CB Hutchings. No sacks on the day. Ready for OG Blades? He had 9 KRB and 1 pancake! That’s Satre numbers! 4 KRB for Leggin and Satre, and 3 for Starks.

Man Blades – you are not slowing down your sophomore effort!

We have a few injuries:

RB Hutchings – probable – broken nose
DT Randy Frederick – questionable, ankle, 2 weeks
RT JB Rivers, probable, knee, 2 weeks

Nothing major, we’ll be fine

We finish the 1st half of the season a strong 7-1.

Here’s an interesting stat, at the halfway mark both of our RB are over 500 yards – Willingham at 514 and Gaston 616. Would it be possible to have two 1000 yard RBs?

The Bengals who beat us? 8-0!
