I was watching a video showing an 8 story building getting demolished and I had a thought - do they really build those huge skyscrapers to last "forever"? Doesn't really seem like you can do a controlled demolition of a huge building in a very crowded area like NYC. What the hell would they do if they found a major structural deficiency in one of those?
