Penrith v. Bishop Auckland
World Group Stadium, Penrith
I had to field a rotated squad tonight, since it had been only three days since our last match. Several players were called up from the youth teams to fill in, and I'm happy with their performances. We played tough against a team that won its first match easily, on their ground.
Neither team scored until the hour mark, when some sloppy defensive work from left back
Ryan Hunt allowed Penrith forward Kieran Crook to bear down on
Steven Griffin and rifle the ball into the net.
We got the equalizer when
James Joseph demonstrated his pace by bursting past his marker down the left side. The wide man crossed for
Prince Petchel in the area, and Petchel passed across the face of goal to his strike partner,
Matt Cobb, for an easy tap-in.
I was satisfied with one point from this match, on a night when neither team could field its usual XI.
Penrith 1 (Crook 60)
Bishop Auckland 1 (Cobb 71)
Bishops Lineup: Griffin, Calvert, Pook, Lord (Oseni), Hunt, Day, Forsyth, Gray, Joseph, Cobb, Petchel (Gilbert).
Booked: None.
Attendance: 87.
