#7 Boston College (Eden James) @
#2 Maryland (Chester Smith) -- A battle of top 10 teams here, but it wasn't really much of a battle. Given that Maryland shot 32.8% from the field and Boston College shot 44.6% from the field, you would think that BC ran away with it. Not the case, as Maryland led by 20 at halftime, and although BC did get the lead down to single digits at one point in the second half, it wasn't nearly enough, as Maryland won the free throw battle, going 27-33 from the line while BC was only 8-12 from the line.
Final Score: #2 Maryland- 77, #7 Boston College- 66

Chester Smith (Maryland)- 2 points, 1 rebound.

Good week for the Cadets who remain undefeated in conference play. David put up nice numbers on the glass.
RS JR C Jace Hunter (#18 Xavier) -- 13-3, 2-0 Atlantic 10.
1/16/19 vs. Fordham (W 86-78), 18 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, 6 blocks, 1 steal.
1/19/19 at LaSalle (W 92-75), 6 points, 7 rebounds, 1 assist.
Good week for the Musketeers who rolled in 2 conference games. Foul trouble saddled Jace against LaSalle as he only played 16 minutes, but he definitely contributed.

1/15/19 vs. South Carolina (W 68-56), 5 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists.
1/19/19 at #1 Tennessee (W 79-66), 6 points, 4 rebounds, 6 assists, 1 steal.
Huge week for the Tigers who knock off previously undefeated Tennessee. What a win. Randy is fully returned from injury and put up decent numbers in his return.
RS JR PF Ivan Carrillo (Arizona State)- injured -- 4-12, 3-2 Pac 10.

The Sun Devils seem to be turning a bit of a corner as they get a huge win over their in-state rivals. Ivan has started some light rehab, but he's still a couple weeks away from returning.

A split for the Eagles this week, as Eden battled foul trouble in both games, but still had nice stat lines.

The Terps stay undefeated but Chester continues to get limited minutes. Oh well, at least he's playing this season.

1/19/19 at Kent St. (W 73-56), 3 points.
While the Cougars continue to win, Al is seeing a reduction in his minutes. We're being told that his off court workouts aren't up to par according to Coach Sampson. Keep an eye on this situation.

1/19/19 at TCU (W 77-69), 12 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal.
Another good week for the Rebels, and Ricardo almost got a double-double against TCU.
SO C Rudy Arellano (Long Beach State)- injured -- 5-10, 1-2 Big West.

2 ugly performances this week for the 49ers, and with Rudy out another 3-4 weeks, I don't see things getting much better.

1/16/19 vs. #20 UConn (L 83-77), 6 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal, (Fouled out).
1/19/19 vs. Providence (W 85-40), 13 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists.
A split for the Orange this week, who really wanted to beat their rivals in UConn. Jack battled foul trouble in both games this week, he'll have to tone down his aggressiveness.

A couple scoreless games for Ralph as the Blue Devils stay undefeated.

Benton is trying to take advantage of his limited minutes as the Panthers split on the week.

Shocked that Bam didn't at least play against Pine Bluff, looks like we've got another Chester Smith situation on our hands. The Tigers split this week.

1/19/19 vs. Seton Hall (W 87-77), 1 rebound, 1 assist, 1 block, 1 steal.
Ariel was nothing if not consistent this week, as he got just 1 of any particular stat in each game. He did a little bit more against Seton Hall though, and the Hoyas win a couple 10 point games.
FR SG Thomas Magnum (Marshall) -- 7-8, 1-1 Conference USA.
1/16/19 at Tulsa (W 70-64), 17 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block, 1 steal.
1/19/19 vs. Southern Miss (L 84-67), 16 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 block, 1 steal.
Thomas isn't known for his defense, so to see him get a block and a steal in both games this week, pretty impressive. He had good numbers scoring wise in both games, as the Thundering Herd split.
FR SG Qwikshot Collins (Pittsburgh)- injured -- 11-4, 4-0 Big East.

While Qwikshot remains done for the season, the Panthers are just kicking it into another gear with 2 more good performances.

Jaybard continues to make a case for national frosh of the year, and it's a shame his performance was overshadowed in the Wisconsin game. The Spartans drop their first conference game this season and will look to regroup.
