2213, Part 1

2213

02.16 -- Dorsal upgrade finished. The coilguns are expected to help quite a bit, allowing a combat effectiveness of more than 12% above the previous model.

3.05 -- The Korgasch finishes the survey of the Xolton system, which has only one small mineral deposit to interest us.

03.17 -- Mining station finished in Arrakis.

05.01 -- The second fleet upgrade, that of the four Sschlurgas with their larger but fewer coilguns, is now underway.

05.02 -- Geothermal Fracking is now a thing, thanks to Engineering. Aside from the orbital stations and any essential provincial expansions, upgrading our mining networks on Humboldt will now be the top budgeting priority. There are four of them, and each will cost just over three months net income in minerals, taking nearly half a year to finish the work. It will be years until all are in place, but in less than a decade they will have paid for themselves. Increasing our supply will help all aspects of the economy, so it's a no-brainer in the long run.

Research Director's Briefing: Dr. Coffee Warlord

The battle debris in the Wollaeus and Impal Tov systems will delay your next project somewhat. The choices follow here:

** Nanomechanics(Industry, 254) -- Unlocks the Engineering Facility, a specialized research lab emphasizing engineering.

** Powered Exoskeletons(Industry, 254) -- Improvements for both the military and civilian applications, with a 5% increase in damage for our ground armies and for our mining efforts.

** Mineral Processing(Industry, 254) -- Mineral storage capacity increased by 1000. Unlocks Mineral Silo II, a building which further increases that limit, and Mineral Processing Center, a building that increases all planetary mining output by 10% wherever it is built.

** Nanocomposite Materials(Materials, 36/381) -- Reverse-engineering of this project will allow us to add armor to our ship designs.

Dr. Coffee Warlord, you are now on the clock.
