#41 Girls 13-14 200 LC Meter Butterfly – 2:36.53 : 18/15 – Better dive than what we’ve been seeing recently. Still about 4 inches too deep, but that is significantly better than 14”. This allowed her to stay in contact with the rest of the field early. Her turns were much improved, but again they still need work, and she still breathed coming off of most of the walls. However she looked strong and finished with a time of 2:33.15. That was good enough for 14th overall, which got her into the B final. It also insured she’d be swimming this event at Senior State next year, and it was also just barely off of the 2:32 time I suggested was possible. She would get another shot to improve several hours later.

#42 Boys 13-14 200 LC Meter Butterfly – 2:27.60 : 16/13 – Bear opened this 200 fly with a 100 time that again was better than his personal best in the 100 fly. This time he posted a 1:09.78. Back half was a solid effort and he finished with a personal best time of 2:25.62, a nice drop of almost 2 seconds. He also finished prelims in 16th place and would be returning for finals that night.
