** Interlinked Support Systems(Computing, 31 mo.) -- Unlocks Barrier Point-Defense, an upgrade over our current Sentinel system for that anti-strike craft role.
** Proton Torpedoes(Particles, 60 mo.) -- A new step in torpedo technology, high power drain but also very destructive.
** Subspace Sensors(Voidcraft, 23 mo.) -- Increases sensor range and a small +2 bonus to weapon accuracy.
** Particle Lances(Particles, 60 mo.) -- Another high-power, high-damage weapon system. The main difference is that it has excellent armor penetration(75%) instead of ignoring shields like the torpedoes do.
Research Director's Briefing: Dr. David Corperial
** Atmospheric Manipulation(New Worlds, 40 mo.) -- Unlocks the ability to colonize Tomb worlds, which are so hostile that no species can live there without special equipment represented here. Also unlocks the ability to change the temperature of a planet when terraforming. I am not sure of the precise benefits of doing that.
** Doctrine: Space Combat(Military Theory, 6 mo.) -- +10% naval capacity.
** Xeno Diplomacy(Statecraft, 24 mo.) -- Unlocks the Form Federation diplomatic option.
** Xenology(Biology, 13 mo.) -- Unlocks the basically useless(except for trading) strategic resource Alien Pets.
Three of these we've passed over repeatedly, while the fourth is new, but also time-consuming.
Good work by everyone keeping things moving over the weekend as we push forward into the new century. Gentlemen, you are on the clock once again, while Engineering is back to work after being sidetracked by the debris analysis for the past couple of years or so.
