edit to add: For the range of emotions that with this story though, my grown-ass wife (who is closer to 60 than I'm supposed to mention) has been moved to the point of tears by this Kate Spade stuff. In her words "my God, she always seemed so ... happy. If she can't make it then ... " {shrug} I guess, I cried when Ronnie James Dio died how much can I really say?

Haha, my girlfriend was pretty much the same, and I hadn't heard of Kate Spade before that. She wasn't quite to tears, but when friends heard the news, they immediately though of my girlfriend and sent her condolences.
They're nice bags. And they go on sale a lot, so I guess they're not stupid expensive (as far as handbags go). But now they probably can't have a big sale for a while, would seem kind of exploitative.
