Regarding the keyboardd...kid has big hands. Like size 16 ring and an 11.5" hand measurement so it's a tougher adjustment than some.

The thing my son likes about his Chromebook is that if you have an android phone all your work is synch'd in the cloud and available on his phone and laptop. He starts to write something on the chromebook in google docs, then finishes it on the phone. I think it does need internet access to work on the WP though, but he the accounts all being together is a plus.
