Been around a little while now I guess, just an extension of the OF using the same kind of thing.
This article - which was about MLB approving use of similar cards for pitchers -- from last Sept mentions them as being "common" for fielders and
this one from 2018 spring training talks about the Red Sox using them for infielders.
