Ehhhhh ... depends on who you'd ask probably. MUCH more "rock" than "metal" afaic.
As a bit of trivia (I have no clue how well known / not known this is to anyone other than hardcore fans), they're managed by Zoltan Bathory of Five Finger Death Punch.
The links between the two groups are pretty strong, as Vext was the fill-in vocalist for 5FDP during Ivan Moody's most recent rehab stint.
