Fair warning, I am going to break the guy code!

I am sure that there are people who feel that Adele turned her back on them now that she can no longer be held up an icon for big women.

However most of the people I have seen complaining have complained about the reaction that people have had to Adele losing weight. Maybe people are complimenting her for her weight loss for accomplishing a goal that she had and that made her happy. Maybe she lost weight because she was tired of being shamed for being fat and did so in dangerous manner. I don't know if she has explained her reasoning publicly. But I feel like it would be really shitting if it was the latter and not something that was worthy of compliments. Ultimately, I don't think most people gave it that much thought. They are complimenting her because she became more attractive to them because of the weight loss. I don't think that makes anyone a terrible person necessarily. IT does say something about how their feelings about the attractiveness of fat women. To each his or her own.
