The Milwaukee Brewers pitching coach might be looking for a new job soon. His
team allowed 13 runs while Don Schulze(3-4), with relief help from Jamie
Easterly, surrendered 2 runs to Milwaukee in a laugher.
Carmen Castillo helped send the fans home happy. He lined a single in the 1st
inning, lost the ball over the fence for three runs (his 5th of the season)
in the 2nd inning and doubled in the 4th inning. Cleveland had 16 hits
overall, while Milwaukee had 9.
Easterly earned the save, his 3rd. Ted Higuera(4-4) was hit with the loss.

Sox.
Mark Clear(5-0) was the winning pitcher with a solid relief performance. He
allowed only 1 hit and 1 walk in 2 and 1/3 innings and chalked up 4
strikeouts improving his ERA from 2.93 to 2.55. Boston banged out 9 on the
afternoon.
Frank Viola(2-4) was given the loss. He surrendered 5 runs and 6 hits in 6
and 1/3 innings.

10,904 fans watched an exciting game at OAKLAND COLISEUM. The Oakland A's put
4 runs on the scoreboard in the 2nd inning and topped the Baltimore Orioles
by the slimmest of margins, 5 to 4.
The game was deadlocked at 4 after nine full innings. Oakland was victorious
in the 12th inning. After an out was recorded, Dwayne Murphy tripled. Mike
Heath next to the plate and he was walked intentionally. Mickey Tettleton
then lined a one-base hit resulting in a mighty exciting win for Oakland and
the 10,904 home town fans in attendance. For the game Oakland out-hit
Baltimore 12 to 9.
Keith Atherton(1-2) got the win allowing no runs in 3 innings. Tippy
Martinez(0-1) was the losing pitcher in relief. He pitched 1 inning and
surrendered 1 hit and 1 walk.

came up short.
Dave Righetti earned his 14th save. The losing pitcher was Edwin Nunez(0-3)
in relief. 'We just made a lot of mistakes, mostly mental,' Chuck Cottier
said. 'It's bad enough when the other team beats you, but when you start
beating yourselves, that's really bad.'

Britt Burns had a strong outing at EXHIBITION STADIUM where the Chicago White
Sox beat the Toronto Blue Jays 2 to 1.
Chicago claimed the early lead in the first inning plating an isolated run on
2 hits. After the 4th inning, neither team was able to score.
The victory was credited to Burns(4-3) who went 7 and 1/3 innings, allowing 1
run. Juan Agosto was credited with his 1st save. Doyle Alexander(4-4) was
tagged with the loss.
