I finally took the jump and paid my $1 for Xbox Gamepass for PC. From one night it's shown me that Phoenix Point is not for me, so that's saved me $30 already. The install was a bit clunky (install button didn't show up to start with) but the uninstall worked with no issues.
Got The Outer Worlds and Wastelands 3 downloading now, getting my money's worth quickly.
