I agree. I like this idea. No reason not to do it.
But it does sound in this pervasive myth that poor people actually have all this secret money that we just need to encourage or trick them into using properly.
Still, a step in the right direction is a step in the right direction. So let’s take it.
And establishing the framework & mechanism for the government to make direct cash payments into people’s private retirement accounts is good as well.
