This will prove to be an unwise pick, I now think, but it solidifies our move to the 3-4/5-6/10-11 affinity triad for the WR/TE group. Arguably silly move to make coming off a #1 seed season. We made a small trade to grab a suitable leader for the switch, as well.

Washington: KickStand takes QB Rod Swift with the 2.4 pick.

Okay...not sure if there's anything here, but with a run-blocking OL and a pass-heavy gameplan, I went after a guy who seemingly has high "Sense Rush" skills. We'll see if he can, you know, play football and stuff.

Baltimore: QuikSand takes CB Steven Parker with the 2.28 pick.

A more conventional pick here for the Ravens, I passed on DB at the end of round one because there were several I liked, and I got one here. I use bump a lot, he's solid there, good chem fit, should play special teams - yes. We'll just whistle past that void in the static "punishing hitter" bar for now.

= = =

I have posted a "spare parts" trade block for some of the supporting WR/TE guys who will fall out of favor with the chem switch, but I don't expect any big offers.

My plan (in BAL) is to keep Lyle around to play QB and preserve his cohesion... but now that he will be a zero-chem guy, it's at least conceivable that I stray from that path. We don't have a legit guy to look forward to, though - best we have is a no-talent all-chem run-around backup fella who has no business taking actual snaps.

{arches eyebrow} hmmmmmm
